freeheictojpg.site is an independently built and maintained tool. It exists because HEIC photos not opening on Windows is a genuinely common, genuinely annoying problem, and most of the existing fixes either upload your photos to a server you have to trust, or gate the useful part behind an account and an upsell.

Conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so there is no server doing the work and no per-conversion cost to recover. That is also why there is no account, no usage limit, and no watermark: none of the usual reasons for those exist here.

"Your files never leave your device" is a claim any site can make and few can prove. This one you can check yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert a photo. You will see the page load, and then nothing further. No cookie banner, because nothing is tracked that would need one. No exit-intent popup, no forced signup, no fabricated reviews or countdown timers. If that changes, it will be because the tool itself changed, not because a growth tactic got added on top of it.
